The Kamp Team

It began with a shared burden—a vision burning in the hearts of gospel workers serving in Moroto. For sometime, different mission organizations had been working faithfully across the region Africa Inland Mission, Global Link Afrika, and Reaching Frontiers. But the challenge was great. The terrain was vast, the people scattered, and many communities still remained untouched by the Gospel of Christ Jesus.

This one evening during a Bible Study, God placed a burden for unity and coalition of the agencies to work together and mobilize the Church for church planting efforts in the region. Leaders came together, humbled by the reality that no single organization could do this work alone. There was a longing to see the local church not only reached but mobilized—to move from receiving the Gospel to taking ownership of it and planting churches among their own people.

Out of prayer, fellowship, and conviction, KAMP—Karamoja Missionary Partnership—was born.

KAMP is not just a network—it is a movement. A growing coalition of mission partners and local churches bound together by one mission: to see unreached people and places across Karamoja transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and indigenous, Bible-believing, reproducing churches planted.

At the heart of KAMP is the belief that the local church is God’s vehicle for transformation. Every strategy flows from this core conviction. The goal is not dependency—but multiplication. Not mere activity—but fruitful, accountable, and sustainable disciple-making.

With prayer as its foundation, KAMP team gather weekly and monthly with local Church Leaders to intercede for the unengaged and Church planting efforts. They live among the people and weekly do home visits with communities doing discipleship.

KAMP has trained local believers using tools like Discovery Bible Study, the Kairos Course, and SEAN discipleship materials. Homiletics and contextual Bible teaching are being passed on to leaders who use that to better serve their Churches and mentor individuals to plant Churches. The strategy is simple but effective: train disciples who make disciples who plant churches.

In partnership with local churches across denominational lines, KAMP has catalyzed mission teams to go into unreached villages carrying not only Scripture but a message of hope. They’re welcomed in places where outsiders once had no access, often through relationships built and continue doing outreach in the villages and schools.

Stories of transformation continue to emerge.

A small village, once closed to the Gospel, now has a growing fellowship led by one of its own—a young man trained through 

KAMP is more than preaching, it’s holistic. Believers with backgrounds in farming, health, counseling, and small business are serving through the local church to meet practical needs while pointing people to Jesus. And in it all, the unique and beautiful Karimojong culture is celebrated—not erased—so that the Gospel takes root in the heart language of the people.

With shared values of integrity, accountability, servanthood, and partnership, KAMP functions as a family. Leadership is rotational, volunteer-based, and intentionally local. Resources are pooled. Vision is cast regularly. Churches are empowered to pray, prepare, and participate—the three pillars of engagement for every congregation that joins.

As the movement grows, so does the call to commitment. Churches are invited to—Commit, be accountable, cast vision, engage congregations, and take action. Together, they are turning the dream of seeing every unreached village in Karamoja touched by the Gospel into a reality.

KAMP isn’t about one name or organization. It’s about the Body of Christ rising together, rooted in the Word, filled with the Spirit, and committed to the lost.

This is not the end of the story. It’s just the beginning.
