Bringing Hope to Refugees

Reaching Frontiers’ Refugee Ministry serves displaced communities with compassion, sharing the Gospel through church planting, discipleship, and trauma care. We walk alongside refugees, restoring dignity and hope while partnering with local churches to build gospel-centered communities among the world’s most vulnerable and unreached people groups.

Ministry to the Displaced . . .

Uganda hosts approximately 1.8 million refugees, making it the largest refugee-hosting country in Africa. The majority come from conflict-affected countries like South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Burundi. Uganda’s refugee policy is one of the most progressive globally, offering refugees land, access to public services, and freedom of movement. Major settlements include Bidibidi (one of the largest refugee camps in the world), Nakivale, Imvepi, Kiryandongo, Rhino Camp, Palorinya, and Nyumanzi, each hosting tens of thousands seeking safety and hope.

Reaching Frontiers is deeply engaged in Uganda’s refugee context, partnering with gospel workers and local churches to bring spiritual renewal and holistic transformation among displaced communities. Our refugee ministry is grounded in an incarnational model of presence, where long-term gospel workers live among refugees, share in their struggles, and disciple new believers within these camps.

Through church planting, trauma-informed discipleship, and leadership training, we aim to nurture gospel-centered communities that can withstand hardship and shine as lights of hope. In camps like Bidibidi, we are working alongside local pastors and missionaries to train refugee church leaders, plant contextual churches, and establish Bible study fellowships that foster resilience and spiritual growth.

Our partnerships with local Ugandan churches help bridge the gap between host communities and refugees, promoting reconciliation, peace, and integrated mission efforts. Beyond spiritual care, we support initiatives in education, livelihood training, and counseling, ensuring that our ministry touches every aspect of human need.

Reaching Frontiers remains committed to seeing the gospel proclaimed among the least and the lost—refugees included—trusting that out of crisis, God will raise a witness for His glory among the nations.

Loving and caring for The hurting

Our refugee programs are rooted in compassion and the call to serve the vulnerable. We partner with local churches and gospel workers to minister to displaced families through discipleship, education, trauma care, and community support. As millions are forced from their homes, we invite you to stand with us—bringing hope, healing, and the love of Christ to refugees in crisis. Join us in this vital mission of restoration and transformation.

Ministry to Children

Reaching Frontiers ministers to refugee children through Bible clubs, trauma healing, and discipleship. In safe, nurturing spaces, children encounter Christ’s love, find hope, and grow in faith. Local leaders are trained to sustain this ministry, raising a new generation of gospel-rooted, resilient children within Uganda’s refugee camps.

Partnering with Local Churches

Reaching Frontiers partners with local churches to offer counseling, peace and reconciliation training, and family ministry within refugee camps. These partnerships address trauma, strengthen families, and meet social needs, creating gospel-centered communities marked by compassion, healing, and hope. Together, we empower families to thrive spiritually, emotionally, and economically amid displacement for Church planting and thriving Gospel communities in Refugee Camps.
