FMT - Pastors Training. The Dodoth

The FMT Pastors Training Project in Kaabong equips indigenous Dodoth pastors for church planting through biblical training, mentorship, and discipleship. Led by Timothy under Frontier Mission Teams, this initiative strengthens local leaders to faithfully preach the gospel and shepherd new believers in one of Uganda’s least-reached areas.

Ministry to the Dodoth People

The Kaabong region in northeastern Uganda is home to the Dodoth people, one of the least-reached ethnic groups in the country. Despite spiritual hunger and gospel openness, the region faces a severe shortage of trained church leaders. In response, the FMT Pastors Training Project was launched through FMT’s leadership, with whom RF partners to train for discipling of indigenous pastors for effective church planting.

Led by Timothy, a seasoned missionary and mentor, the project walks alongside local leaders—many of whom are first-generation believers—offering theological training, pastoral formation, and practical ministry skills. The program includes intensive Bible study, doctrine, discipleship strategies, leadership development, and contextual mission training, tailored to the needs and realities of rural ministry in Kaabong.

Classes are held regularly in the FMT Base, or often under simple shelters, reflecting the raw and authentic hunger for God’s Word among the trainees. These pastors then return to their villages to evangelize, form fellowships, and plant churches—many of which are the first gospel witness in their area.

The impact is profound. Fellowships have formed, lives have been transformed, and entire households have come to faith through the faithful ministry of these trained leaders. FMT doesn’t just provide knowledge—it nurtures bold, faithful pastors who multiply the gospel in hard places.

Your support can help expand this work to more villages and equip more Dodoth pastors to lead, disciple, and plant churches. Together, we can strengthen the foundation of the gospel in Kaabong, one trained leader at a time.

The Pastors

Pastoral training among the unreached ensures lasting gospel impact. It equips local believers to lead, teach, and multiply faith-filled communities in places where the church is young, fragile, and full of promise. Support FMT to support a Pastor and their indigenous Church plant or training.
