Church Planting

We envision Christ-centered, disciple making churches established in the hardest-to-reach places. Through prayer, partnership, and training, we equip and support church planters to proclaim the Gospel, develop local leaders, and cultivate vibrant communities of faith where Christ is not yet known. Our framework for Church Planting

At Reaching Frontiers, our approach to church planting is guided by a Spirit-led framework we call the 3Ps: Prayer, Planting, and Partnership. This is not a rigid model, but a flexible guide shaped by Scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit. We begin with Prayer, seeking God’s direction and interceding for the unreached. Through Planting, we pursue the establishment of Gospel-centered, disciple-making communities that are rooted in the Word and led by local believers. And through Partnership, we collaborate with churches, networks, and individuals to resource, encourage, and send well. This framework helps us contextually respond to God’s mission in diverse settings.

Prayer

We commit to regular, Scripture-based intercession, aligning our vision with God’s desire that the community we desire to plan in that they will come to worship Him (Psalm 67; Matthew 9:37–38). Prayer is where the burden for the unreached is born.

Prayer is central in identifying people, places, and timing for planting churches. We follow the biblical pattern seen in Acts 13:1–3, where the Spirit called and sent workers during a time of fasting and prayer. During this time, we discern with you if God is calling you for Church Planting.

We build prayer teams that support church planting efforts before, during, and after the work begins. Prayer sustains planters and every Church planting effort, opens hearts, and breaks spiritual strongholds in the communities we desire to serve (Ephesians 6:18–20; Colossians 4:2–4). We build a community of prayer for the community we want to plant in.

Preparation

Effective church planters must be rooted in Scripture and sound doctrine. Through the mentorship programs and ongoing discipleship, we help planters understand the biblical mandate for church planting and the Gospel’s transforming power (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Titus 1:9). The call is that they can plant Bible teaching and Bible believing Churches.

Church planting flows from who we are in Christ. We emphasize personal holiness, humility, resilience, and the fruit of the Spirit as essential qualities for sustainable ministry (Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Timothy 4:7–8). This is foundational for every planter. Part of this is that they are accountable to their Local Church even with their desire for Church Planting.

Participants are equipped with tools in evangelism, contextualization, discipleship, and community engagement. They also learn how to work in teams, develop healthy rhythms, and serve under authority. This preparation is guided through mentorship, local church support, and hands-on practice (Ephesians 4:11–12; 2 Timothy 2:2).

Planting

Church planting begins with proclaiming Christ clearly within the language, culture, and context of a specific community. We train and support planters to listen, learn, and communicate the Gospel in ways that are biblically faithful and culturally meaningful (1 Corinthians 9:22–23; Acts 17:22–31).

New churches are born through disciple-making. As people come to Christ, we encourage the formation of simple, reproducible gatherings rooted in Scripture, worship, fellowship, and the Lord’s Supper. These gatherings serve as the foundation of the local church (Acts 2:42–47; Matthew 28:19–20).

Sustainable churches require local leaders. We prioritize identifying, discipling, and entrusting leadership to faithful men and women from within the community. Through coaching, biblical training, and ongoing support, we equip leaders to shepherd, multiply, and eventually send others (2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 1:5).

Join 2026 Cohort

At Reaching Frontiers, we believe that church planting is a sacred calling—and no one should walk that journey alone. That’s why we are inviting five individuals who feel called to plant a church—whether in an urban neighborhood or a rural village—to join us for our next Church Planting Cohort.

This cohort is not just a training program; it’s a six-month mentorship that includes spiritual formation, strategic planning, and community building, followed by three years of field-based support and coaching. Together with seasoned church planters and your local pastor, we’ll walk with you step by step.

Applications are now open for our next Church Planting Cohort launching July 2026. If you’ve been sensing God’s call to establish a Gospel-centered community in a place where Christ is not yet known, we encourage you to prayerfully apply. Let’s discern together, grow together, and plant together—for the glory of God and the joy of the nations.

Our Approach – We pursue church planting with prayerful dependence and contextual wisdom. Our approach is shaped by the following principles:

At Reaching Frontiers, our church planting vision is shaped by core values that reflect both the character of Christ and the needs of the communities we serve. We believe in incarnational living—embedding ourselves long-term in communities, learning their language, culture, and rhythms of life, just as Jesus dwelt among us. We prioritize local leadership development, intentionally discipling indigenous believers to lead, shepherd, and multiply churches that are biblically grounded and locally led. Our model is built on reproducibility, using simple, faithful, and sustainable methods that allow churches to multiply across various contexts. We engage in contextual ministry, honoring cultural expressions of worship and community while remaining anchored in Scriptural truth. At the heart of our efforts is discipleship, where life-on-life relationships lead to transformation and the organic formation of worshiping communities. Finally, we embody a holistic witness—integrating evangelism with compassionate service and community development to reflect Christ’s love in both word and deed. Together, these values form the foundation for planting churches that are faithful, fruitful, and transformative.

How your Church can partner – We believe the work of church planting belongs to the whole Church. Local churches can engage by:

At Reaching Frontiers, we are committed to walking alongside the local church to identify, train, and send out church planting teams with clarity and care. We do this by sending trained and supported teams—equipped and mentored by experienced planters—to plant Gospel-centered communities in both rural and urban frontiers. We partner in prayer, support raising, and ongoing encouragement, recognizing that no planter thrives alone. Through our Church Planting based cohorts with a church planting focus, we journey with future planters from discernment to deployment, offering intentional mentorship and contextual tools. We also create opportunities for internships and short-term experiences, helping emerging leaders test their call and gain hands-on exposure to church planting realities. Whether you’re a sending church or a passionate individual, we invite you to walk with us in equipping and releasing laborers into the harvest fields.

Church planting training equips you with a biblical vision, practical tools, and spiritual maturity to engage in God’s mission with clarity and confidence. It sharpens your calling, deepens your theology of mission, and prepares you to navigate the realities of ministry in new or unreached contexts. For your local church, it cultivates a sending culture, strengthens leadership pipelines, and multiplies its Gospel impact beyond its current borders. As you grow through the training, your church also grows—becoming more intentional, outward-looking, and invested in advancing the Kingdom where Christ is not yet known. This journey not only forms you as a planter but also matures your church as a vital sending body.

We believe church planting is both a calling and a community responsibility. Our Church Planting Cohort-Based Seminar equips individuals through a six-month mentorship journey followed by three years of field coaching. Each participant walks alongside an assigned Church Planting Coach who guides them through structured content, reflection, and contextual planning.

The training includes approximately 20–25 hours of engaging with Church planting materials weekly, complemented by three personalized coaching sessions every month for vision development and application. Participants will also complete a Church Planting Vision & planning assessment, helping clarify their mission strategy and calling. Upon successful completion, planters are commissioned and enter into the three year mentorship phase with a Field Coach to support them as they begin planting.

A foundational principle in our approach is Church-to-Church Planter Accountability. We do not plant churches apart from the local church. Every participant must be part of a Bible-believing sending church, and we partner closely with that church to mentor and support their planter. This ensures every new church plant is rooted in prayer, community, and shared responsibility for advancing the Gospel.

Apply now to join our next planting cohort starting July 2026 — we’re walking with five planters at a time.
