To the north east, this safari will help you experience the call of reaching the least and unreached yet witnessing the beauty of creation and scenic views of Karamoja.
Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park, nestled in the rugged, semi arid valleys between the Sudanese and Kenyan borders in the north-eastern Karamoja region of Uganda. Transected by the Narus and Kidepo Rivers, the park hosts a profusion of big game, with over 80 species of mammal, including lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, zebra and various antelope species. A staggering 28 species of mammal found in Kidepo cannot be found in any other national park in Uganda: cheetah, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal and kudu to name but a few. With a total of more than 475 different bird species, Kidepo is also considered outstanding for birds of prey and 58 different species have been recorded here.
Please be at Lugogo Baptist Church by 7:00. Start off with getting to know each other, prayers for unreached people and Bible Studies. Depart at 7.30am with driver/guide.
Arrive at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary at 12:00, and prepare to trek the 19 white rhinos. This will be an opportunity for prayer walks for least and unreached people but as well time to reflect on Gods stunning hand in creation through nature. Tracking these rhinos involves a short drive then eventually a 1.5 – 2 hours walk with a ranger. After the Rhino trekking, your guide will drive you to a safari family lunch at Amuka at about 1:30pm. Later proceed to Gulu.
Check in at Dich Comfort Hotel in Gulu at about 5:30pm. Freshen up, order for dinner to be served at 7:00pm. Later, you will attend the safari family fellowship and worship and study/Prayers.
9.00 - After breakfast, morning devotion, quiet time and study reflections, visit some of the communities Reaching Frontier work with with their Missions and counseling program, eventually proceed to Kidepo.
13.00 Arrive at Savannah Lodge on the outskirts of Kidepo Valley National Park (just 500m from the park gate), where you will be staying in twin safari tents with shared bathrooms. Here, you will have your late lunch, and order for dinner and packed meal for the next morning. At 5:00pm dinner will be served, enjoy the view of Kidepo’s stunning starry skies.
Don’t forget to be part of the safari family fellowship and worship. Where we take time off to pray for least reached and unreached communities.
After your morning reflect and study. You will have breakfast, then at 6:30am head out for a full day game drive, taking in the areas surrounding the Narus Valley, the Kidepo River and up towards the hot springs, where ostrich may often be viewed. You should have ordered for your packed mean. Please discuss with your guide and order the night before if you wish to choose a packed lunch.
At about 7.300pm, Arrive back at the hotel, order dinner. Later be part of the safari family fellowship – We will be praying for each other and for Gods leading in reaching least and unreached communities.
After the safari family fellowship and quite time. You will have your early breakfast and start your journey through Kabong, Kotido, visit Pian Uper Reserve then down to Moroto to the Tepeth community for our community discipleship and fellowship. This is usually a long drive, enjoy the stunning scenery as you drive through Karamoja and the Pian Upe Game Reserve. Lunch will be a packed lunch from Kidepo Savannah Lodge.
Arrive at Moroto INN for a night, remember to order for dinner and later be part of the Safari family reflection time for prayer and fellowship.
On the final morning of your safari, after your quiet time and devotion, you will have breakfast at the lodge, and depart for Sippi falls. Head to Kampala. We will have a few stop overs for snacks.
Arrive in Kampala about 7:00pm. You will have time to share prayer requests and pray for each other.
